When taken regularly at early stages of life, it makes the enamel, the most external and resistant part of the tooth, become more RESISTANT to acid substances, therefore more resistant to cavities. Fluoride is found in drinking water (to a very different extent according to geographical areas), in mineral water, in beverages, foods, toothpastes, gels and mouthwashes.<\/p>\n<p>According to WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION guidelines and the Italian MINISTERIAL GUIDELINES, daily use of fluoride toothpastes starting from the age of 6 months, possibly integrated with the professional application of gels and sealing in patients who have a greater tendency to tooth decay, has been shown to allow teeth to be more resistant by reducing the incidence of cavity pathologies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fluoride is a substance which naturally occurs, not a medication.
