Dental agenesis

Dental agenesis is the congenital absence of one or more dental elements.

It is commonly thought that an absent tooth should be replaced prosthetically (through bridges, implants etc.), but it is possible instead to close that space, orthodontically.

In other words, it is possible, through an orthodontic treatment, to move the adjacent teeth and position them in correct occlusion in the seat of the absent tooth. Even in the smile area, it is possible to replace absent teeth with natural teeth and achieve an optimal result both from an aesthetic and a functional point of view.
