Functional treatments and “dentosophy”

Functional treatments aim to correct flawed habits, optimizing tooth and facial growth and development.
There are many treatment philosophies, all effective if the patient cooperates.

What we call “dentosophy”, for example, is a discipline characterized by a humanistic approach to dental art, which deepens the connection between mouth, body balance and the psyche. It aims to normalize oro-pharyngeal neurovegetative functions, such as chewing, swallowing, phonation (voicing) and breathing with the help of osteopathy and naturopathy. If patients carefully cooperate they can really help making the treatment more effective.

What tools are used?

Speech therapy treatments, functional equipment and functional rehabilitation techniques aim to achieve a rebalancing of the mouth function through our patient’s conscious work. Sometimes orthodontic equipment is not necessary. In some patients, specific equipment is used, such as the multi-function activator, or the function regulator, which act on muscular, orthopedic and dental levels.
